Rafa Benitez Could Be Sacked After Spurs Game And Bookies Have Mourinho And Dalglish Favourites In Next Liverpool Manager Odds
Wednesday 20 January 2010 at 12:50
Rafa Benitez faces a crunch tie against Spurs tonight and a loss to their rivals for fourth spot would leave the Reds seven points adrift and in all probability facing the prospect of Europa League football at best next season. The bookies think a loss would be the end of his managerial reign and they are already betting on who will replace him as Next Liverpool Manager.
Jose Mourinho And Kenny Dalglish Beating Guus Hiddink To Favouritism
Benitez is currently just 5/2 with Paddy Power to be the Next Manager To Leave and he is just 8/11 with SkyBet not to last the season (evens with SkyBet to still be in charge in the summer) so that gives a good indication of how under threat his job his. SkyBet, VC Bet and Paddy Power are all betting on who replace Benitez and the current favourites are Jose Mourinho, Kenny Dalglish and Guus Hiddink, although currently Mourinho and Dalglish are just edging it, they can both be backed at 3/1 with VC Bet. Hiddink is not far behind though and the former Chelsea boss can be backed at 4/1 with Paddy Power.
Laurent Blanc And Mark Hughes Also In The Frame
It is not just a three horse race though to become Next Liverpool Manager, former Man Utd defender Laurent Blanc and former Man City manager Mark Hughes are rated as 8/1 chances with SkyBet. Other managers with big reputations who could get the job include Martin O’Neill who is 10/1 with VC Bet, Jurgen Klinsmann is 12/1 with VC Bet and Paddy Power whilst Alex McLeish is just 14/1 with Paddy Power. To find out the odds on the likes of Roy Hodgson, Gerrard Houllier or Phil Scolari, and to see who else could get the job, visit the SkyBet, Paddy Power or VC Bet websites.
