Thursday 14 January 2010 at 14:24
Kauto Star and Denman, the favourites in the Cheltenham Gold Cup Betting Odds, seem to have scared off the opposition with just 27 Cheltenham Gold Cup Entries. The number is down by 11 on the 2009 Cheltenham Gold Cup and we could be looking at the smallest Cheltenham Gold Cup field in years.
Paul Nicholls Pair Who Have Dominated The Race Also Dominate The Betting
No surprises that Paul Nicholls pair Kauto Star and Denman were amongst the Cheltenham Gold Cup 2010 Declarations, the pair seem to have the Gold Cup between them according to the latest odds. Kauto Star, who won the race in 2007 and 2009 is looking to win a third Gold Cup and is the favourite with the bookies, he is best priced 11/8 with Boylesports, Ladbrokes and William Hill. Stablemate Denman is not far behind the favourite though, the 2008 Gold Cup winner is a top price of 9/4 with Ladbrokes.
Imperial Commander Well Backed After Latest Decs
Imperial Commander has been best backed since the declarations were made, he has been shortened with all the bookies and is now a top price of 14/1 with Bet365 and VC Bet. That makes him a clear favourite ahead of 20/1 chance (with SkyBet) Cooldine as well as What A Friend who is 25/1 with Paddy Power and Stan James.
