FIFA World Player Of The Year 2009 Betting Odds Make Lionel Messi The Hot Favourite Rather Than Cristiano Ronaldo
Thursday 26 November 2009 at 10:35
The FIFA World Player Of The Year 2009 Betting Odds have Barcelona star Lionel Messi as the almost certain favourite to win, way ahead of Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
Messi Almost Certain To Go One Better in 2009
Messi is the 1/5 favourite with Stan James to be crowned FIFA World Player Of The Year. He has finished second for the prize two year’s running, in 2007 it was Kaka who beat him and in 2008 Cristiano Ronaldo was successful. It seems Messi should beat both of those comfortably this year though, Ronaldo is 16/1 with Stan James whilst Kaka is not even on the shortlist.
Barcelona Dominate The FIFA World Player Betting Odds
Messi’s biggest threat comes from his own team mates. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Andres Iniesta are both 14/1 with Stan James whilst Xavi is 16/1 with Stan James. Xavi was awarded best player at Euro 2008 and is a very classy player so if you aren’t backing Messi he could be the best bet. There are two English based players on the shortlist, Fernando Torres and Wayne Rooney, to find out their odds visit the Stan James website.
