Tour De France Betting Odds See Alberto Contador Shorten But Lance Armstrong Can Still Win
Monday 13 July 2009 at 11:19
Alberto Contador has hardened at the head of the Tour de France betting odds over the weekend but Lance Armstrong is still in there with a great chance of winning.
Contador The Odds On Favourite
Alberto Contador has been the long time odds on favourite to win the Tour de France and he has shortened plenty over the weekend in the betting, he is now priced up at 4/11 with Paddy Power and Stan James and he is even shorter elsewhere. Contador is doing well this year and won the Tour de France in 2007 so clearly has a massive chance.
Lance Looking For Eighth Win
Seven time winner Lance Armstrong is racing in his first Tour de France since coming out of retirement and he is currently the second most likely rider to win, he can be backed at 7/2 with Ladbrokes, Coral and William Hill. William Hill are currently offering up to £100 in free bets if you open a new account with the promo code F100 so if you are backing Armstrong or an eighth victory, do it with William Hill.
British Rider Has Fair Chance Amongst Others
British rider Bradley Wiggins is currently putting up a good show and is rated eighth most likely to win at 100/1 with Paddy Power and Blue Square. Amongst those in front of Wiggins in the betting are Andy Schleck who is 16/1 with Bet365 and Paddy Power and last year’s winner Carlos Sastre who is 33/1 with Bet365 and Stan James.
