 The Ashes finally gets underway this week and England will be looking to defy the odds set by the bookmakers who give them little chance of regaining bragging rights over the Aussies.

Australia are strong favourites to win the Ashes series, they can be backed at just 5/6 with Stan James and Sportingbet. England can be backed at 2/1 with Bet365, Paddy Power and Blue Square whilst the unlikely draw is 5/1 with William Hill and Boylesports.
1st Test Tips
England look a fair bet to get the Ashes series off to a flyer with a win in the 1st Test and they should be backed at 5/2 with Ladbrokes, Coral and Blue Square. If you fancy Australia then take the 15/8 with Sportingbet, that is a standout price. If you are intending to have a bet then keep an eye on the weather as there is a strong possibility rain could affect play this week.

If you are looking at bets for the entire series then top batsman is going to be a very popular bet.
