 Both William Hill and Coral have priced up the Coral Eclipse and Sea The Stars is the early favourite having been re routed from the Irish Derby.
Sea The Stars Hot Favourite For Another Big Race
Sea The Stars was withdrawn from the Irish Derby because of soft ground and is now the 11/10 favourite with William Hill to land his third group one of the season on Saturday at Sandown. This ten furlong trip is likely to be the optimum for the Guineas and Derby winner and he should take all the beating.
Pair Clash Again
It is not often the previous year’s St Leger winner runs in the Eclipse but Conduit is the 3/1 second favourite with both Coral and William Hill. Conduit was beaten a short head over ten furlongs at Sandown earlier in the season by Cima de Triomphe, who reopposes at 8/1 with Coral off 7lbs worse terms.
Rip Van Winkle Up Against It
Aidan O’Brien has been mopping up most group ones over the past few seasons and his Derby fourth, Rip Van Winkle, is the 9/2 third favourite with Coral and William Hill. He has twice finished just over two lengths behind Sea The Stars so he has it to do to reverse form with the favourite.
