Premiership Relegation Betting Odds Look Bleak For Newcastle And Middlesbrough
Monday 20 April 2009 at 12:08
The bookies reckon the current bottom three will be the three that go down judging by the current Premiership Relegation Betting Odds.
West Brom Already Gone And Likely To Finish Bottom
West Brom’s latest loss against Man City leaves them nine points off safety with just five games left and they are as good as gone at 1/100 with Coral. The only bet you could consider on them is to be rock bottom and almost a certainty at 1/10 with Coral and Boylesports.
Boro Facing The Drop
Despite being a point above Newcastle, Middlesbrough are second favourites for the drop at just 2/7 with Paddy Power and Stan James. They are three points behind the likes of Blackburn and Hull and they don’t have a great run in so they are likely to go too.
Newcastle Need Three Home Wins
Newcastle have been freefalling in recent months and having looked safe around Christmas time, they now find themselves second bottom. The odds of 4/6 with VC Bet look very good for them to be relegated, they are four points from safety as things stand. Manager Alan Shearer reckons they need to win their remaining three home games but Portsmouth, Middlesbrough and Fulham will all fancy their chances at St James Park.
Hull And Blackburn Should Survive
The two sides most likely to drop into the bottom three with five games left are Blackburn and Hull City. Blackburn are in better form than Hull and should be ok so back them to stay up at 1/7 with Coral. Hull were being talked about for a European place after their early good start but they can’t buy a win now. They are 11/8 with Bet365 and Ladbrokes to go down but they should just survive at 8/13 with Paddy Power. They will go down next season though.
