Premiership Relegation Looms For Newcastle And Middlesbrough After Losses
Monday 23 March 2009 at 12:16
Premiership relegation betting is heating up, and for West Brom it has already come to boil, they are as short as 1/33 with some bookies to be relegated but can still be backed at 1/14 with Coral to go down. The best bet on West Brom is for them to finish bottom at 4/11 with Bet365.
Middlesbrough Look Doomed And Newcastle Could Follow
After the latest round of Premiership games it is Middlesbrough and Newcastle who look most likely to join West Brom in the Championship next season. Boro are no four points from safety and can be backed at 4/7 with Ladbrokes and William Hill to be relegated whilst Newcastle, who have a tough run in, are now just 11/10 with Paddy Power and Stan James to go down.
Hull Form Is A Worry
Hull are the other side that really look in trouble, a loss to Wigan means their poor form continues and despite looking safe at Christmas, they are now in real danger of being relegated. Hull are 3/1 with Ladbrokes and Coral to go down and it is only their four point cushion that is keeping that price up, if they hadn’t made such a good start to the Premiership they would be dead and buried.
Portsmouth And Stoke Should Stay Up
Other sides still struggling but picking up points include Portsmouth who are now 6/1 with Coral to go down and Stoke who are 9/4 to go down with Bet365. They can be backed to stay up at 1/10 with Paddy Power and 4/11 with Coral respectively.
Blackburn Are Value To Go Down But Could Survive
The remaining sides fighting it out are Blackburn, Sunderland and Bolton. Blackburn look in the most danger and are fairly generous odds to go down at 5/1 with Blue Square and Ladbrokes. Sunderland should be safe, they are 11/2 to go down with Bet365 and 1/8 to stay up with Coral. Bolton should definitely be safe, they are five points clear and are 1/40 with Bet365 to survive.
