Cheltenham Gold Cup 2009 Odds Sees Kauto Star As Strong Favourite

Kauto Star, who won the 2007 Cheltenham Gold Cup, is well fancied to regain his title next week at the Cheltenham Festival.
Can Kauto Regain The Gold Cup£
Paul Nicholls’ charge, who is top priced 15/8 with William Hill, Stan James and Sportingbet, could only finish a tired second last year but he has been given a lighter campaign this year as Paul Nicholl’s believes the horse is better fresh. He is a very classy horse and you are likely to get a very good run for your money if you back Kauto Star.
Paul Nicholls Has Strong Hand Yet Again
The second favourite is Neptune Collonges, also trained by Paul Nicholls. Neptune Collonges finished third in last year’s Cheltenham Gold Cup, just a short head behind Kauto Star. That makes his price of 6/1 with Ladbrokes and William Hill look pretty generous.
Denman Needs To Return To Form
Paul Nicholls make it the 1-2-3 in the market with Denman, last year’s winner. Denman has had problems since last year’s race which is why he is as big as 7/1 with Bet365, William Hill and Ladbrokes to make it two in a row. If Denman is anywhere near his best he will be very tough to beat.
Others With Strong Kauto Star Form
Other well touted horses running in the race include Exotic Dancer, who is fairly closely matched with Kauto Star on many runnings but is a relatively massive price at 12/1 with Ladbrokes whilst Albertas Run is 18/1 with William Hill and Sportingbet having chased home Kauto Star at Kempton in December in the King George.
