Sam Allardyce On The Drift In Next Sunderland Manager Betting Odds
Wednesday 17 December 2008 at 12:13
It looks as though big Sam Allardyce could be returning to Premiership management but not where it seemed likely two weeks ago. Allardyce had been favourite to be the Next Sunderland Manager but now that Paul Ince has been sacked as Blackburn manager Allardyce is widely expected to become the Next Blackburn Manager and is just 8/13 with SkyBet to land that job.
Allardyce Looking More Likely To Join Blackburn
As a result of the support for Allardyce landing the Blackburn job he is now out to 5/1 with Bet365 to become the Next Sunderland Manager. It certainly looks as though he is heading to Ewood Park judging by the betting so it may be time to rule him out of the running for the Sunderland job.
Sbragia Impressing The Right People With Results
Ricky Sbragia, the current caretaker boss at Sunderland, is now the 9/2 favourite with Bet365 to get the job on a permanent basis. It is thought that Sbragia will be given until after Christmas to prove himself and if he continues to get results like the 4-0 win at the weekend he would be sure to get the job.
Grant And Curbs On The Shortlist
Avram Grant and Alan Curbishley must be in the mix to land the Sunderland job as they have both been steadily backed since betting on Roy Keane’s successor began. Grant is now a 12/1 shot with Bet365 whilst Curbishley has been backed into 8/1 with SkyBet and Bet365.
Mancini And Bilic Available At Value Prices
If you fancy one at a big price then look no further than Roberto Mancini. The ex Inter Milan manager is 20/1 with Ladbrokes or 18/1 with Bet365 but he is as short as 8/1 with VC Bet. This means the bigger prices are unlikely to last long. One more interesting contender at a big price is Croatia manager Slaven Bilic. He has been backed across the board today and despite being as low as 16/1 he is 33/1 with SkyBet.
