Sam Allardyce Favourite To Replace Ince In Next Blackburn Manager Betting
Monday 15 December 2008 at 13:06
Blackburn’s 3-0 loss to Wigan at the weekend has prompted SkyBet to start taking bets on who replace Paul Ince as Blackburn Rovers manager. There is a familiar name at the head of the betting.
Allardyce Favourite For Yet Another Job
Big Sam Allardyce, who was overlooked for the Blackburn job in the summer in favour of Ince, is the 3/1 favourite with SkyBet to replace Ince. Allardyce has been favourite for many jobs since he left Newcastle a year ago and he is currently favourite to be the Next Sunderland Manager as well as the Next Blackburn Manager. He is keen to get back into management so is likely to take whichever job is offered to him first.
Curbs Taking His Time Over New Job
Alan Curbishley, who quit West Ham earlier this season, is the 8/1 second favourite to take over. Curbishley doesn’t seem in a mad rush to get a new job but the Blackburn post is one that should interest him. They have a decent squad and a manager of Curbishley’s talents should be capable of dragging them out of the mire.
Interesting Name Amongst 12/1 Shots
There are three potential new managers on 12/1 with SkyBet and one of them is particularly interesting. Gerrard Houllier, who is thought to be interested in a return to the Premiership and David O’Leary, the former Leeds United manager are two of those managers. The third is ex Blackburn player Alan Shearer. He has always been linked with the Newcastle job but less pressure at Blackburn might suit the ex England striker better. He looks a fair bet at 12/1 with SkyBet.
Martin Jol And Darren Ferguson Linked
