Mark Hughes And Roy Keane Favourites In Next Premiership Manager To Go Betting
Wednesday 19 November 2008 at 11:13
PremiershipBlackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes and Sunderland boss Roy Keane seem to be the managers most likely to leave their post next according to several bookmakers. They are both under pressure but for very different reasons.

Mark Hughes Needs Results To Improve

Mark Hughes was always going to be under plenty of pressure this season after City were bought out by middle eastern investors. They may have only made one big signing (Robinho) before the transfer deadline but it is fair to say fans expected better than the twelfth place they currently occupy, one point above the relegation zone. It is thought a more profile manager may be wanted by the club which is why he is the 3/1 favourite with Paddy Power to be the next Premiership manager out.

Rumours Roy Keane Walked Out

Bookmakers stopped taking bets on the next manager to go on Friday after it was rumoured that Roy Keane has walked out on Sunderland. It is apparent now that he hasn’t walked out but he doesn’t have a great relationship with the fans and Sunderland have been performing badly recently after a good start to the season. His future could depend on how his negotiations for a new contract go and he is 4/1 with Paddy Power to be next Premiership manager to be out of a job.

Megson Sitting At The Bottom Of The Table

It seems a three horse race for the dole queue with Gary Megson a 9/2 shot with SkyBet and William Hill. West Brom sit bottom of the league at the moment so it is understandable why Megson is so short but he isn’t doing a bad job and one win would move them well up the table taking the pressure off.

No More Managers To Go£

If you fancy no more managers to leave this season then that outcome is 7/1 with SkyBet. This will depend on how the clubs involved in a relegation scrap at the end of the season react and if they panic more managers could go.

Other interest bets include Arsene Wenger at 40/1 with Paddy Power, Tony Adams at 20/1 with SkyBet and Paul Ince at 8/1 with Paddy Power and William Hill.
