Joe Calzaghe Backed In BBC Sports Personality Betting But Lewis Hamilton Remains Favourite

 Joe Calzaghe’s impressive defeat of Roy Jones Jr at the weekend has resulted in his price for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award to come in from the massive 150/1 being offered a week ago.
Calzaghe Still An Outsider But Expected To Box On
Calzaghe can now be backed at a best price of 50/1 with Bet365 and Blue Square but he is as short as 16/1 with William Hill. Calzaghe is currently considering retirement but William Hill think he will continue to fight. They are offering 4/11 that he fights during 2009 and 2/1 that he doesn’t.
Hamilton Odds On For Award
Lewis Hamilton is the hot favourite to scoop the award and he is best priced 1/2 with Totesport. He won both the British Grand Prix and the F1 Drivers Championship and that should be enough for him to be the 2008 BBC Sports Personality.
Olympic Pair Stand Best Chance Of Causing Upset
The Olympic heroes seem to have the best chance of upsetting the odds and Rebecca Adlington is 10/3 with Bet365 whilst Chris Hoy is 9/1 with Bet365. Adlington is the much more likely of the pair although Hoy probably offers the best value.
