Chelsea V Roma Team News And Betting Odds
Tuesday 04 November 2008 at 12:07
Roma v ChelseaChelsea travel to Rome on Tuesday night and they are 11/10 with SkyBet, Ladbrokes and Coral to win the match. Roma are 11/4 with Bet365 to make it a home win and the draw is 23/10 with Paddy Power.

Chelsea Team News

Ashley Cole has picked up a calf injury and could miss up to ten days so he will be out of action tonight. Defender Ricardo Carvalho is also out, as are midfielders Michael Ballack and Michael Essien. Didier Drogba once again came on as a substitute over the weekend as he continues to recover from the injury he picked up against CFR Cluj. He should play some part in the game.

Roma Team News

Francesco Totti, the Roma skipper, is a doubt after picking up a knee injury. Midfielder Alberto Aquilani has a thigh injury and might not recover in time for the match.

Chelsea v Roma Betting Odds

Roma have lost their last five games in all competition and are nowhere near the force of old. This should allow Chelsea to pick up a fairly comfortable victory and the 11/10 with SkyBet, Ladbrokes and Coral looks very generous. A bet on Chelsea is highly recommended against a side that sits one place from relegation in Serie A.

Chelsea are scoring plenty of goals at the moment as Big Phil Scolari continues to provide attacking football. A bet on Chelsea to win 2-0 is good value at 8/1 with Ladbrokes and Paddy Power whilst 3-0 might be worth a saver at 22/1 with Stan James and Blue Square. Chelsea can be backed to score two or more goals at 4/9 with SkyBet and this looks another worthwhile bet.

There are plenty of potential goalscorers, Nicolas Anelka got a hat trick at the weekend and he is 13/2 with Coral to score first and 11/5 to score anytime with Coral. Others to appeal anytime are Joe Cole (3/1 Ladbrokes), Frank Lampard (23/10 Paddy Power) and Deco (5/1 Paddy Power). The best bet however, could be Alex, who should start in place of Ricardo Carvalho. Alex scored at the weekend and had another ‘stolen’ off him by Nicolas Anelka and at 28/1 with Blue Square to score first and 10/1 with William Hill to score anytime he could be the bet of the game.
