The winner of the X Factor is the odds on favourite to gain this year’s Christmas Number one, having managed that achievement for the last three years running.
Four In A Row For Simon Cowell TV Show?
William Hill are offering odds of just 1/4 that the X Factor winner picks up the Christmas Number One. History says there is a great chance of that happening with Shane Ward getting the 2005 Christmas Number One with ‘That’s My Goal’, Leona Lewis repeating that feat in 2006 with ‘A Moment Like This’ and Leon Jackson making it a hat trick for X Factor in 2007 with ‘When You Believe’.
According to the X Factor betting Odds the most likely X Factor contestant to be scoring the Christmas Number One is Laura White who is 11/4 with Bet365 whilst Alexandra Burke is second favourite at 4/1 with Ladbrokes and Diana Vickers is 7/1 with Coral.
Boyband Comebacks Popular This Christmas
The joint second favourites to be Christmas Number One are Take That, Boyzone and Bob The Builder, all of which are 10/1 with William Hill. Boyzone followed in the footsteps of Take That by recently reforming but ironically from that trio the only one to have scored a previous Christmas Number One is Bob The Builder!
Cliff Richard Could Beat Former Reality Show Winners
Cliff Richard scored Christmas Number Ones in 1988 and 1990 and he is 12/1 with William Hill whilst Girls Aloud, who had ‘Sound Of The Underground’ at Number One at Christmas 2002 are also 12/1 with William Hill. Leona Lewis is 16/1 with William Hill to gain her second Christmas Number One whilst Robbie Williams and Amy Winehouse are both 33/1 with William Hill.
