Bolt Now Unlikely To Break World Record In Olympics Mens 200m
Tuesday 19 August 2008 at 11:36
William Hill now believe that 100m world record gold medalist Usain Bolt is unlikely to break the world record for the 200m, like he did in the 100m.
World Record Odds Drift
William Hill now go 5/2 that Bolt will break another world record, from an initial quote of 11/10. That is quite a change in odds and William Hill spokesman Graham Sharpe explained why:
After his 100 metre heroics, Bolt may be happy just to do enough to win the 200m without worrying about setting a new record.
Bolt Certain To Win Gold Again
Bolt may now be 2/7 with William Hill not to lower the world record but that doesn't mean he isn't well fancied to bring home another gold for Jamaica. William Hill are offering the best price about a gold for Bolt at 25/1. He is much shorter elsewhere, SkyBet are offering just 1/100 that Bolt wins gold! Blue Square are offering 14/1 that any other athlete wins gold in the 200m.
