Lampard Loss Would Be Damaging For Chelsea Premiership Odds
Tuesday 08 July 2008 at 12:28
Chelsea have rejected an official bid for Frank Lampard according to their official website but a move could still be on the cards and that would surely affect Chelsea’s Premiership odds and Champions League odds.
Chelsea Need To Go One Better
Chelsea are currently 2/1 with Ladbrokes and Bet365 to win the Premiership and 7/1 with Totesport and Paddy Power to win the Champions League. The finished runners up in both competitions last year. Speculation about Lampard has been rife since ex Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho took over as Inter boss but a statement on the Chelsea website reads:
We have informed Inter that we will not enter into any discussions regarding the transfer.
Bentley Could Park Up At Spurs
Another England midfield international that looks set to be on the move is David Bentley. He has made now secret of his desire to leave Blackburn but they have reportedly slapped a £17m price tag on his head. Spurs, Aston Villa and Liverpool are all said to be interested.
Spurs look to be assembling a strong squad for next season and they are 5/2 with Coral to win the Premiership without the ‘big four’. Tottenham can be backed to win the FA Cup at 16/1 with SkyBet, the Carling Cup at 12/1 with SkyBet and the UEFA Cup at 16/1 with SkyBet. There are clearly a few Arsenal fans on the trading team at SkyBet!
im a spurs supporter and am intrigued by the possibilities that the new team under ramos can acheive.however i also see myself as a very neutral unbiased sports fan who appreciates the best of everything and was pleased to see united win the league last year they played the best football yes better than arsenal for sure.its for this reason that i will be backing Arsenal 11/2 on 8/7/08 for the title. wenger has to sort his team out to turn them into hungry winning animals. in cesc fabregasm they have one of the best midfielders in the world xavi won POTM in austria/swtizerland but fabregas changed every match he was brought into in spains favour. flamini wont be too big a loss wenger knows how to replace the important players. what they do need is a finisher something theyve not had for a while. eduardo is that man his cruel injury in february hurt arsenals at the time strong title challenge. when he is back early season i feel he will fire them to another premier league title.hopefully more trophy success for spurs too.
