Reyes Swaps Arsenal For Atletico
Tuesday 31 July 2007 at 17:44  After spending the majority of his loan season at Real Madrid complaining about London and insisting that he didn't want to return to Arsenal, Jose Antonio Reyes has got his wish of a move to Spain with Real's city neighbours Atletico Madrid.
The Gunners find themselves at 12/1 with Bet365 to lift the Premiership trophy this year without the skilful Spaniard.
With the departure of Thierry Henry to Barcelona ahead of Reyes' move, the way is clear for Robin van Persie to show what he can do in front of goal – the Dutchman is 16/1 with Betfred to be the Premiership's top goalscorer in the 2007-08 season.
He will be competing against Chelsea's Didier Drogba for the crown of top scorer, however, with the Chelsea marksman a clear favourite at 9/2 with VC Bet.
Arsenal will need goals from the likes of Van Persie if they are to compete in the Premiership this year and could find themselves concentrating on the FA Cup, a competition that has treated them well in the past, if they can't find the consistency to challenge for the league.
The north London side are fourth favourites for the cup at 13/2 with Paddy Power, with Chelsea and Manchester United both at 7/2 and Liverpool 5/1.
