Hadden Could Field A Weakened Side Against All Blacks
Tuesday 21 August 2007 at 16:53 Frank Hadden is unlikely to play a full strength team in Scotland's clash with the All Blacks, according to rumours.
Die-hard patriots will squirm at anything less than a full show of strength against the formidable team, but Hadden knows that he needs to keep leading players fresh for the pool match with Italy, which Scotland must win to qualify from the group stages.
In an effort to quell the frenzy of speculation he said: "It's fatal for Scotland to plan too far in advance and it literally is one game at a time.
"We want to play our best team in every match but it would be foolish of me to look at the draw and not look at one or two other possibilities," he hinted.
Scotland will face a full-strength South Africa on Saturday in their last warm-up match before the World Cup.
They will take the momentum from their 31-21 victory over Ireland two weeks ago into the home match, and only a handful of changes are expected to the team.
