Scotland Expect Handsome Victory Over Romania
Tuesday 18 September 2007 at 16:11 Scotland expect 'handsome' victory over Romania
Scotland are expecting to win with style when they meet Romania in the World Cup tonight in Edinburgh.
Scotland have lost twice in nine previous meetings but go into tonight's game clear favourites, priced at 1/33 to win with Bet365, with Romania on 10/1.
The home team will be in the strange position of wearing their away strip and making do with the away dressing room, as Romania won the toss.
However, Scotland are sure to have some vocal support on the stands at Murrayfield and will hope this can propel them to a crushing victory - a Scotland winning victory of between 26 and 30 points is priced at 11/2.
Scotland coach George Graham believes the Romanians may be a harder prospect however. "Every team is potentially a threat in the World Cup; any team on any day can beat any other team," he told the Scotsman. "Romania are known for being a very good pack, very good scrummagers and very enthusiastic. The fact we have played them twice in the last two years, once recently, means we have a good understanding of what they're capable of so we're very aware of how they'll pit themselves against us."
