Sevilla Look To Honour Puerta At The Emirates
Wednesday 19 September 2007 at 14:37 In what looks on paper to be one of the toughest matches England teams face this week in the Champions League, Arsenal take on Sevilla at home.
The Emirates Stadium will be buzzing with expectation following Arsenal's bright start to the season which has left them unbeaten in the Premiership and top of the table.
The Gunners are evens with Blue Square while the draw is priced at 9/4. However, the odds on Sevilla to win at 11/4 look generous as they too have had a good run and have vowed to win all their competitions in tribute to Antonio Puerta, who collapsed during Sevilla's opening La Liga fixture of the season and tragically died in hospital days later.
Arsenal's new wonderboy Cesc Fabregas recognised the threat.
"They are going well in the league and I do not think it will change anything because they are a great side," he said.
"The tragedy could be one extra motivation, of course.
"He always wanted to play in the Champions League and this was the first time in a long time they had qualified. For them it is very special."
Fabregas will be hoping to impress again, however. The Spaniard has already scored five goals for Arsenal this season and is priced at 7/2 to score tonight. Some other tempting specials on the midfielder are available with a price of 7/1 to score outside the box and 50/1 to score a header just two examples.
The odd on Fabregas to score and Arsenal to win are available at 7/1.
