Owen Out Of Carling Cup Clash With Arsenal
Monday 24 September 2007 at 13:01 Michael Owen will miss Tuesday night's Carling Cup match against Arsenal as Newcastle United hope to capitalise on the fact the Gunners are focussing their attention on other competitions.
That, of course, will be the hope of Magpies fans but Arsenal's young guns will no doubt have other ideas and are 8/11 favourites with Blue Square for the win while Newcastle are priced at 16/5 and the draw at 12/5.
Both Owen and team mate Claudio Cacapa will undergo scans on groin injuries on today after they limped out of the 3-1 Premier League victory over West Ham.
Also out are Joey Barton, Emre, Peter Ramage, Damien Duff, Stephen Carr and Celestine Babayaro.
Arsenal on the other hand are brimming with confidence after crushing Derby 5-1 at the weekend.
For the scoreline a result of 1-0 to Arsenal is attracting the most money on 11/2 while a 2-0 win and a 2-1 win for the Gunners are priced at 6/1 and 7/1 respectively.
The odds of Cesc Fabregas maintaining his amazing goal scoring run and netting in 90 minutes are currently at 11/4 with SkyBet.
