Hull Desperate To Kick Chelsea While Theyre Down
Monday 24 September 2007 at 14:43 When the fixtures for the Carling Cup were announced Hull must have been excited by the prospect of hosting a club as big as Chelsea, but disappointed by the knowledge they would probably go no further.
However, the recent departure of Jose Mourinho and the injuries to Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba may give them hope of producing an upset at the KC Stadium.
Chelsea are currently priced at 2/5 with Blue Square to get their first win under Avram Grant and the odds of Hull achieving a draw are priced at 3/1.
If Hull do the unthinkable and defeat Chelsea a return of 11/2 is possible.
However, the Tigers aren't having a good season down in the Championship either having lost 1-0 to bottom club Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
They are currently placed 18th in a league of 24.
At the previous meeting between the clubs, the FA third round in 2000, Chelsea won 6-1. The chances of the same scoreline on Wednesday are priced at 125/1.
