Scotland And Italy Prepare For Winner-takes-all Match
Thursday 27 September 2007 at 16:20 Scotland will be at full force when they play against Italy in their crucial final World Cup Pool match.
The team on Saturday will the same as that which beat Romania. The Scots go in to the match as favourites priced at 2/5 with Blue Square with Italy priced at 15/8.
However, Scotland coach Frank Hadden said they aren't expecting Italy to roll over.
"We give Italy the utmost respect," Hadden told the BBC.
"Not only did they win their last match against us but we have always found Italy a difficult side to play against."
Italy captain Marco Bortolami will miss the match due to hamstring and neck problems.
The match is a winner-takes-all affair and both teams are desperate to win to prolong their World Cup stay.
It's a fact not lost on Scotland's Chris Paterson, who said: "It's a game we know we can win and must win, and we must put all the hard work we've done over the summer together on Saturday night."
The odds of Scotland winning both halves of the match are priced at evens with SkyBet, while Italy are priced at 11/4 to win both halves. Scotland to win the first and Italy the second half is priced at 7/1 while a vice versa result is priced at 11/2.
