Bolton And Derby In Early Relegation Battle
Friday 28 September 2007 at 15:49 Despite it being just the end of September, when Bolton and Derby meet in the Premiership this weekend it will be billed as battle to avoid relegation.
Both teams have had a bad start to the season with Bolton and Derby sitting 19th and 20th respectively.
Derby are getting slightly more backing and are priced at 5/4 to win the match with Ladbrokes, while a Bolton win is priced at 7/4 and the draw at 11/5.
Derby manager Billy Davies was honest about his club's chances, telling the BBC: "We still are what we are - we're everybody's favourite to go down, a team that has come up two years too early.
"We are playing against the Portsmouths, Boltons and Evertons, all these other teams who on paper may seem easier games but are still established Premier League sides and deserve huge respect for that."
It's been Derby's worst ever start to a Premiership season while Bolton have had a similarly bad start once before. Both teams have been beaten five times already this season, and have each dropped 17 points.
The Trotters' Nicolas Anelka will be the leading goal scorer on the pitch with four goals this season and is priced at 6/1 to find the back of the net first.
The chance of the match being a goal fest with four or more goals is priced at 11/4.
