Pletcher Pleased With Breeders Entrants
Monday 22 October 2007 at 11:16 American trainer Todd Pletcher claims that his Breeders' Cup selections are ready and raring to go for this Saturday (October 27th).
Pletcher, who has entered 15 horses across the 11 race weekend spectacular, claims that his charges are in good shape for the Cup and will hoping for better showing from 2006 when he failed to notch a single victory.
After keeping an eye on his horses at a warm-up session, he said: "It was an excellent morning, I thought everyone went well. I didn't have any problem with any of them."
The trainer was also happy with form of Breeders' Cup Classic contenders Any Given Saturday and Lawyer Ron.
The duo are joint second favourites at 7/2 with Bet365, narrowly behind Curlin at 3/1.
Commenting on Lawyer Ron's prospects, Pletcher added: "He was on the bridle a little bit early, but manageable.
"It was a good solid work. He looks great. He's happy. Now it will come down to race day."
And hoping that Any Given Saturday jockey Garrett Gomez could handle the eagerness of his horse and settle his nerves, he added: "He's pretty aggressive before he gets to the pole. I thought Garrett did a good job getting him settled after that."
