Jol: No Berbatov Bust-up
Thursday 25 October 2007 at 16:17 Tottenham boss Martin Jol has distanced himself from rumours that he had a bust-up with Bulgarian hitman Dimitar Berbatov.
The beleaguered Dutchman denied claims that the striker refused to warm up against Newcastle on Monday and that they had a training ground spat the following day.
Jol said: "It did not happen. I think our relationship is very good."
He added: "Dimitar has a long-term contract. I always talk to him - if he's not playing well and not scoring goals, or if he's playing well and scoring goals.
"Dimitar isn't an extrovert, he's a bit quiet. Last year, when he was flying, he was the same. If he scores goals and we play well, he's happy," Jol continued.
But, luckily for Spurs fans, it looks as if the rumours have not affected the camp, with the North London side fancied to beat Spain's Getafe in their Uefa Cup Group G clash at White Hart Lane tonight (October 5th).
Tottenham are 4/7 favourites with Paddy Power and Bet 365.
And Berbatov could further improve his reputation if he scores the first goal this evening. The striker is 4/1 favourite with Coral and Sky Bet.
