Magnier Fears For Dylan Chances
Friday 26 October 2007 at 15:15 John Magnier, co-owner of Dylan Thomas, is worried that his charge's hopes of winning the Breeders Cup have been hit by the victory in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Both Magnier, and trainer Aidan O'Brien have high hopes for the horse, who is rated at 11/10 favourite with Sporting Bet.
And if the equine claims victory in the race it will be the first Triomphe/Breeder double ever. Commenting on the 'jinx', Mangier said: "It's a statistic that worries us. "But if you ask me would I prefer to be third in the Arc or win the Arc, I'd prefer to win and come here and try to get the double up." But, clearly less superstitious, Aiden O'Brien added: "He seems to be in good form He just keeps getting stronger and stronger physically and mentally. He's been an amazing horse." He continued: "We've never had a horse like this one." Dylan Thomas will have to outgun highly-regarded second favourite English Channel, which is rated at 7/2 with Paddy Power to claim the crown.
