Arsenal Ready For Title Challenge
Monday 29 October 2007 at 14:48 Arsenal manger Arsene Wenger has tipped his young guns to make a serious assault on the Premier League title this season.
The Frenchman claimed that his youthful side may have what it takes to seize Manchester United's crown after they came through their most difficult league game of the season so far with a credible draw at Anfield against Liverpool.
And it seems that the bookmakers are in agreement with both Bet Direct and Better slashing the odds of the Premier League trophy returning to North London to 9/4.
Happy with the performance of his side, Wenger said: "We have come out of our first big test this season stronger. We played without the handbrake on.
"We have the talent to fight up there for the championship."
The Gunners boss added: "We played without any restrictions and we were faithful to the game we wanted to play.
"That is based on our technical quality and movement. Overall we handled the game very well. I cannot fault anyone, it was a fantastic game.
"I have always been very confident of what we could achieve this season, I said it before the season started and now we have convinced a few more people."
Meanwhile, Manchester United's impressive 4-1 victory against a lacklustre Middlesbrough side saw them retain their position as favourites, with Bet Fred and Bet and Game offering 6/5 for the reigning champions to retain their crown.
