Gabby Makes Shock Strictly Come Dancing Exit
Tuesday 30 October 2007 at 09:17 Gabby Logan's shock exit on last Saturday's (October 27th) thrilling instalment of Strictly Come Dancing has blown the competition wide apart, shaking up the odds for the next winner.
Gabby's goodbye has pushed Penny out to 12/1 with Bet 365 and Bet Fred. The odds on a number of the frontrunners have shortened with Matt Di Angelo now a 4/1 dark horse with Coral and Tote Sport.
Logan, whose husband is also one of the celebrity elements of the program, has been a hit with the judges but failed to win over the public, who instead kept Penny Lancaster in the show.
The choice of the voting public seemed to upset both presenter Bruce Forsyth and judge Bruno Tonioli.
Apparently Forsyth said: "Next week, please try and remember this is a dance contest," a comment which was edited out by the powers at the BBC.
And equally unimpressed, Tonioli added: "This whole thing has been absolutely ridiculous - a complete fiasco."
Meanwhile, Alesha Dixon remains the favourite to claim the Strictly Come Dancing crown at 7/4 with Ladbrokes. Kate Garraway remains the most likely to face the chop next week at 5/2 with William Hill.
