Fowler Hoping For Liverpool Upset
Tuesday 30 October 2007 at 16:03 Former Liverpool frontman Robbie Fowler is hoping to dump his old club out of the Carling Cup tomorrow, despite the Merseysiders being second favourites to lift the trophy.
The teams battle it out for a place in the fifth round and Fowler is hoping that his side, 10/1 outsiders for the match and a 150/1 long shot for the trophy with Bet 365, can upset the five time European champions.
Fowler still enjoys massive popularity at Anfield but Cardiff manager Dave Jones insists that he will be focused on winning the game for the Bluebirds. He said: "It's good for him going back with all his family and friends, but he's been back many times with Leeds and Manchester City."
He added: "But basically he's a professional footballer and he just wants to do well. All the hype that goes on is for the supporters and the press."
And, afraid of the prowess of his former player, Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez said: "I don't want to see him scoring goals in this game. I want to see him before the game very happy and after it a little bit disappointed."
Chelsea are favourites to lift the trophy at 3/1 with Coral and Sporting Bet with Liverpool close behind at 4/1 with Bet Fred.
