Rhydian In Quit Rumours
Wednesday 21 November 2007 at 17:31 Rhydian Roberts threatened to quit the X Factor this week, after staging a behind-the-scenes rant complaining that his songs and staging are making him look foolish, it has been revealed.
According to the Sun, the classically trained Welsh singer has had enough in the image that has been created for him, and feels ridiculed for having been forced to sing tunes such as Go West by the Pet Shop Boys and Get The Party Started by Pink while dressed in silver suits and fur coats.
Although he was a 33/1 outsider with most bookies at the start of the show, Rhydian is now odds on favourite to win this year's X Factor contest. Despite his recent threats, Rhydian is rated as 4/7 by William Hill, Ladbrokes and Coral, while Bet365 and Paddy Power are both offering 1/2.
Following his tantrum, Rhydian has apparently been given free reign to pick his own song for the next show, something that has angered the other contestants who think he is being treated special because he is favourite to win.
Several bookmakers are accepting bets on who will win without Rhydian. Niki Evans is the favourite, with odds of 6/4 from Paddy Power and Bet365, 13/8 from Stan James and 1.64/1 from Betfair.
Since Alisha was voted off last week, Beverly Trotman is now most people's outside bet, with odds of 18/1 from Betfair and 14/1 from Totesport.
