Cardiff Unlikely To See Christmas Snow
Monday 17 December 2007 at 11:32 The chances of a white Christmas in Cardiff this year are slim due to a wave of milder weather poised to hit Wales, it has been claimed.
The odds of Christmas day snowfall in the city have taken a tumble with Paddy Power offering 9/2 for a downfall and 1/8 for a snow free Christmas.
Jonathon Powell, senior weather forecaster at Positive Weather Solutions, revealed that the region was more likely to receive rain than snow on December 25th.
He told ic Wales: "The likelihood of a white Christmas is now all but over, as a low pressure system will sweep in some wet and windy weather across Wales during the festive period.
And he added that the most likely British snow destinations would be in the east of England or Scotland.
"If there is any slender chance, it appears to be left to Boxing Day to produce something, when temperatures do tail away somewhat, but at the most it will be a dusting over the highlands of Scotland, or a flurry or two down the eastern side of the UK," he added.
Meanwhile, the odds of snow in Aberdeen on Christmas Day are more favourable with Bet365 pricing the Scottish city at 9/4 to have a white Christmas.
