Elano Could Miss Tottenham Clash
Tuesday 18 December 2007 at 09:08 Manchester City midfielder Elano could miss tonight's (December 18th) Carling Cup clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
The Brazilian has been in fine form since his switch from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk and his likely omission has seen City's odds of victory slide to 11/8 with Paddy Power
However the Blues are still favourites to win the clash, with the north London side priced at 11/10 with Party Bets.
With City manager Sven Goran Eriksson set to bring back 'keeper Joe Hart to replace Andreas Isaksson, the Swede admitted that the position is giving him a selection headache.
"It is very close between them, although we have planned for a long time to play Hart in this game," he said
"I have been pleased with the attitude of all three goalkeepers. They have been fantastic, very professional and are working extremely hard.
"It is difficult choosing a number one, but I have to do it. The fault is not mine. The fault is the players'. They are too good," he added.
Meanwhile, Spurs hot-shot striker Dimitar Berbatov is the favourite to score he first goal at the City of Manchester stadium tonight, rated at 6/1 with Ladbrokes.
