Liverpool Face Tough Milan Test
Friday 21 December 2007 at 12:50 Liverpool will face Italian champions Inter Milan in the first knock-out round of the Champions League.
The Merseysiders scraped through the group stages after picking up just a single point in the first three games, but surged back to claim maximum points from their remaining fixtures to qualify in second place.
But Liverpool's odds of winning the competition have taken a tumble following the draw, with the Reds currently priced at 15/1 with Bet Chronicle and Inter rated at 10/1 with SkyBet.
Rick Parry, Liverpool's chief executive, admitted that the draw had been tough and that the game would be tight.
He said:"It's a long time since we played them, they are a very good team. It's going to be tough but there are no easy ones at this stage.
"Every team at this stage is a good team, if you look at who we could have drawn it was never going to be easy so we shall take who we get."
He added: "We've stopped a few hearts the way we have qualified but in the last three games we are clearly in form and scoring goals."
Meanwhile, Barcelona remain the favourites to win the Champions League, with their odds shortening to 3/1 with Coral after they drew Scottish side Celtic.
