Arsenal Draw AC Milan In Champions League Knock-outs
Friday 21 December 2007 at 14:25 Arsenal have been drawn against reigning European champions AC Milan in the first knock-out round of the Champions League.
The north London side finished second in their group behind Sevilla of Spain but are still a better bet than their Italian rivals to win the competition, rated at 8/1 with Ladbrokes, while Milan are priced at 13/1 with Can Bet.
And the Gunners managing director Keith Edelman revealed that he was excited by the prospect of facing the impressive Italian side.
He said: "It's going to be a great match, very exciting," he said.
"We've only played them once in a competitive match in 1994 (the European Super Cup), we drew at Highbury and lost at Milan so we can hopefully turn that round.
"We would have preferred an easier one at this stage but everyone will be looking forward to this tremendously."
Meanwhile, Arsenal's Dutch striker Robin Van Persie is a long shot to score the most goals in this year's competition, rated at 40/1 with VC Bet.
