White Christmas Dreams Dashed
Monday 24 December 2007 at 10:21 Chances of a blanket of snow covering parts of the UK were dashed after forecasters claimed there would be no white Christmas this year. And since the Met Office have predicted a wet Christmas, London's odds of snowfall on December 25th have lengthened to 33/1 with Stan James. The organisation claimed that rain will engulf large parts of the country over the festive period and into next week. A spokesman for the Met Office told the Daily Telegraph: "A weather front is moving in and it will bring rain into Scotland and Northern Ireland. "It will continue moving across England and Wales during the course of the day and could bring heavy showers to Cumbria and Wales. "It will hang around almost everywhere tomorrow. The rest of the week will be breezy with showers." Meanwhile, bookmakers believe that Manchester is more likely to receive snow on Christmas day than London, with odds of a festive downpour in the north-west at 16/1 with Stan James.
