Rovers Need Victory To Get Back On Track
Thursday 27 December 2007 at 11:35 Blackburn need a victory in tonight's (December 27th) game against Manchester City to get their season back on track, according to manager Mark Hughes.
Hughes revealed that following defeat in their last three Premiership matches, victory in the Eastlands clash was vital for Rovers to put a halt to their recent downturn in fortunes.
However, the Ewood Park outfit head into the game as outsiders, with Ladbrokes offering the best odds of Hughes' side emerging as victors at 11/4, while City are hot favourites to triumph at 11/10 with bet365.
Commenting on the importance of tonight's match, Hughes told the BBC: "We know what needs to be done and we are trying all we can to get our season back on track.
"We were all delighted with the way the campaign had started. We need a victory or two to settle us down, but then no-one has a divine right to win."
Blackburn are without suspended trio Robbie Savage, Stephen Warnock and Keith Treacy, while City striker Emile Mpenza, an 8/1 chance for first goalscorer with Blue Square, is expected to recover from a minor muscle strain to play.
