Chimbonda Seeking Carling Cup Vengeance
Monday 07 January 2008 at 08:56 Pascal Chimbonda has vowed to avenge Arsenal's win over Tottenham in last year's Carling Cup semi-final.
The north London clubs face-off again for a place in this year's final, with the first leg taking place at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday (January 9th).
But, despite Chimbonda's rallying cry, Spurs remain unfancied, rated at 11/4 with Paddy Powe, while Arsenal are 5/6 favourites with Ladbrokes.
Revealing the agony of losing at the semi-final stage to their fierce rivals, the Tottenham defender said: "It hurt us a lot to lose to them last season.
"We were winning 2-0 at home in the first leg and they got it back to 2-2 and we ended up losing the second leg.
"But we have learned from what happened and it will be different this time."
He added: "We would love to be the first team to beat Arsenal at the Emirates this season."
Meanwhile, Chelsea, who face Everton in the first-leg of their semi-final on Tuesday (January 8th), are favourites to retain the title they won last year, priced at 6/4 with BetFred.
