Poyet Backing Tottenham To Make Final
Tuesday 22 January 2008 at 12:20 Tottenham assistant manager Gus Poyet is backing his side to record their first victory over Arsenal in nine-years and claim a place in the Carling Cup final.
And, taking a slender away goals advantage into tonight's (January 22nd) game at White Hart Lane after securing a 1-1 at the Emirates, Spurs are 5/4 favourites with Ladbrokes.
Poyet, who is in his second spell at the club, revealed that Tottenham were confident of ending their winless run this evening.
He said:"I hope there will be a bigger game than this, in the final, but for now at this moment it's the biggest game of the season for different reasons.
"It's all about making sure we get to the final, we believe we can and if we do it's going to be a great night for everyone."
He added: "I won't have to say anything to the players, it's a perfect night for them to be involved - everyone will be desperate to play in this game."
Current holders Chelsea remain the tournament favourites, rated at 11/10 with BlueSquare.
