Liverpool Looking To Boost FA Cup Odds With Havant Victory
Friday 25 January 2008 at 10:33 Liverpool will be looking to secure an emphatic victory over Havant & Waterlooville to boost their chances of winning the FA Cup.
With the Reds six divisions above their Blue Square South opponents their fans will be expecting a goal-fest, with Liverpool the overwhelming 1/66 on with Ladbrokes to win the contest.
However, Havant and their manager Shaun Gale are intent on treating the match like any other fixture in the hope of pulling off a major upset.
Urging his players just to go out and try and win the tie, Gale said: "Anything is possible in football and I would never send a side out just to enjoy it."
"It's the FA Cup and we will be going out to win like we do every game."
He added: We're going to go with the attitude that we can get something.
"The boys have come up with a fantastic achievement in earning the right to play a club steeped in history, with millions of pounds worth of players.
"But it can't be a day trip, we have to treat it like we treat all our games."
Meanwhile, Manchester United are the current FA Cup favourites, rated at 7/2 Stan James.
