Giants Superbowl Odds Dip After Flu Scare
Wednesday 30 January 2008 at 09:57 The New York Giants chances of claiming a shock victory against the New England Patriots on Sunday (January 30th) have lengthened after a flu bug hit their camp. The Giants are massive 9/2 underdogs with Coral while the undefeated Patriots are rated at 1/6 on with BetFred. Around six of the New York players were laid low with the illness, including Lawrence Tynes, kicking hero against the Green Bay Packers, although a number of the players are beginning to recover. Michael Strahan, a veteran Giant, has revealed that the chances of victory against New England were already remote, even before the flu outbreak. He said: "This is the biggest challenge that you can have in the Super Bowl. We have to go against the only 18-0 team ever. "It's like Mike Tyson and Buster Douglas. You wake up and you expect that Tyson knocked him out in the first round and you find out Douglas won. That's what we hope we are." He added: "If we win, this would be the biggest upset in a lot of ways." Meanwhile, the New England Patriots are rated at 5/4 with Stan James to score more than 34 points in Sunday's clash.
