Record-breaking Etoo Boosts Cameroon Africa Cup Of Nations Odds
Thursday 31 January 2008 at 17:16 Samuel Eto'o broke the Africa Cup of Nations goalscoring record to send Cameroon through to the knock-out stages and boost their chances of winning the tournament.
Cameroon are now 6/1 with Party Bets to win the cup after Eto'o scored his 15th and 16th tournament goals for his side.
Delighted with the efforts of his star striker, Cameroon coach Otto Pfister was full of praise for Eto'o.
"He is the best scorer in African history," he said.
Glad to be in the second phase of the tournament, Pfister added: "Of course I am happy. We qualified. It wasn't very spectacular, but now we will prepare for our quarter-final.
"We've been very efficient and scored 10 goals in the group stage, I don't know many teams who have done that.
"We totally dominated the first half and, although we didn't put on a great show, I'm happy we've qualified."
Meanwhile, Ivory Coast remanin the favourites to win the Africa Cup of Nations priced at 6/4 with Coral.
