Wales Hoping To Boost Six Nations Odds By Ending Jinx
Friday 01 February 2008 at 09:53 Wales are hoping that a rare victory against England at Twickenham on Saturday (February 2nd) could be the catalyst for Six Nations glory.
England have not lost to Wales on home soil in 20 years, a statistic that has pushed the odds of a red victory out to 4/1 with Ladbrokes.
But Welsh captain Ryan Jones is hoping that his side's aggressive approach could be the key to ending two decades of misery.
Explaining the smash mouth tactics of coach Shaun Edwards: "I asked Shaun a question on defensive formation and he said 'I don't care, just smash them."
"There's no rhyme, no reason, technical jargon or whiteboard presentations, just good old-fashioned brute force."
And, commenting on the task ahead, he said: "We're under no illusions of our challenge."
"We must impose ourselves on England and get it right physically and mentally.
He added: "Wales' record at Twickenham is well-documented which shows how difficult it is to win there."
Meanwhile, England's Paul Sackey is the 9/1 favourite to score the first try in tomorrow's encounter.
