Hook Improvement Could Boost Wales Six Nation Odds
Thursday 07 February 2008 at 15:27 Wales coach Warren Gatland has urged James Hook to improve his performances to boost the Reds chances of winning the Six Nations. Following their victory over England on the opening weekend, Wales have seen their odds of claiming glory cut to 3/1 with Ladbrokes. Gatland admitted that James Hook was a player with plenty of potential but has room to improve his game. Urging Hook to be more spirited, he said: "He should be more vocal and dominant in his demeanour. "The message is: 'You must be accurate'. Against England he kicked one out on the full and a cross kick put us under all sorts of pressure." He added: "As a ten I think he will get even better. He is a player with an enormous amount of potential and skill. "The fact he kicked his goals was as important as anything. If Wales had kicked their goals against Fiji at the World Cup they would have made the quarter-finals." Meanwhile, Wales 1/4 favourites with Boylesports to win their next Six Nations game against Scotland at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday (February 9th).
