Manchester United Victory Boosts FA Cup Odds
Monday 18 February 2008 at 12:18 Manchester United's convincing 4-0 victory over Arsenal on Saturday (February 16th) has seen their chances of winning the FA Cup dramatically slashed.
The Red Devils victory over a surprisingly ineffective Gunners side forced Stan James to cut their odds to 11/8.
And following the stunning win, Sir Alex Ferguson revealed that the players were fired up after their recent derby defeat to Manchester City.
"It was a really fantastic performance - the players looked great," he said. "They were so disappointed with themselves after losing to Manchester City on a really important day but they have made amends for that."
Assistant coach, Carlos Queiroz added: "Everyone was attacking and defending together and we played as a unit all of the time.
"It is easy when you play like that because the best players in the team are free to produce the special moments in the game, which we did here."
Meanwhile, Bristol Rovers, who completed a surprise weekend cup win over Southampton, are the outsiders to win the FA Cup, rated at 125/1 with Ladbrokes.
