Sidebottom Fitness Boosts England Test Match Odds
Monday 03 March 2008 at 12:38  England's chances of victory in the first test match against New Zealand have been boosted by the return to fitness of Ryan Sidebottom.
The return of the pace bowler has seen the Lions' odds shortened to 7/5 with Bet365, while New Zealand remain the 11/4 underdogs with Blue Square.
And Sidebottom was delighted to be back in contention for a starting place after recovering from a torn hamstring.
"I'm fighting fit and available for selection," he said.
"It's a bit of a relief because it's a worry when you get injured. You don't want to miss Test matches and you don't want to miss tours.
"I'm raring to go now. You don't want to make it worse and you need time for these things to recover, but I've had two or three days rest and recovery and preparation."
Meanwhile, England are 4/5 odds-on favourites with CanBet to win the Test series in New Zealand.
