Lampard Decision Cuts Chelsea FA Cup Odds
Friday 07 March 2008 at 09:08 The FA's decision to overturn Frank Lampard's ban, handed out after the midfielder was sent-off in a Premier League game with West Ham, has further shortened Chelsea's odds for Saturday's FA Cup clash with Barnsley. Chelsea are the overwhelming 1/3 favourites with Blue Square to win the match, while Barnsley, who beat Liverpool in the last round, are 7/1 underdogs with Coral. And following the FA's decision, Chelsea manager Avram Grant revealed his belief that the authorities had made the right call. "I think the decision is the right decision because even the referees sometimes make mistakes, especially the assistant referees," he said. "It is not the first time. I think for the FA it is important to show when the referee makes a mistake that the game is fair for everybody," Grant added. Meanwhile, Chelsea's Premier League rivals Manchester United are the bookies choice to win this season's FA Cup, rated at 5/4 with Paddy Power to win the competition.
