Megson Angry As Away Goal Hits Uefa Cup Odds
Friday 07 March 2008 at 17:08 Bolton boss Gary Megson has criticised the officials that took charge of his side's 1-1 home draw with Sporting Lisbon last night (March 7th).
With the Trotters conceding a vital away goal, their chances of winning the Uefa Cup have lengthened further to 70/1 with PartyBets.
And, pointing a finger at the officials for failing to send off Rui Patricio, Megson claimed that the performance of the referee and his assistants was poor.
"The rules are if you handle outside the box you get sent off. Patricio got both hands on the ball," said Megson.
"As for the fourth official, he is a doughnut. He did not know the rules."
He added: "It would have been better if they knew the rules on the pitch, though, rather than relating to chuffing dug-outs because the lad handled the ball with both hands outside the box.
"I don't normally come out and criticise but I think he (the referee) fell for one or two things."
Meanwhile, Sporting Lisbon have seen their odds of winning the Uefa Cup cut to 14/1 with Sporting Bet.
