Raikkonen Desire Shortens Australian Grand Prix Odds
Monday 10 March 2008 at 13:08 Kimi Raikkonen has revealed his desire to reclaim the Formula One world champion title he won so dramatically last year.
The confident Finn, who is the 13/8 favourite with Ladbrokes, to win the season opening Grand Prix of Australia on Sunday (March 16th), won last season's title on the last day ahead of McLaren rivals Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.
And Raikkonen revealed that his first championship had not satisfied his thirst for winning.
"Anyone who thinks I'm now happy and satisfied is mistaken," he said.
"It has never been fun for me to drive for a fifth or sixth-place finish. I'm here to win.
Revealing that a good start to the season could be the key to the title, he added: "Coming into this new season, I just hope we have a slightly stronger start to the year and then we will go from there."
Meanwhile, Raikkonen is the favourite to win this years' Drivers Championship, priced at 6/5 with Boyle Sports. Britain's Lewis Hamilton is priced at 2/1 with Better.
